On the corner of Burgundy St. and Esplanade Ave this establishment has been around since 1938. It may look like a your classic dive but this place has a reputation no New Orleanian would dare mess with. It's a 24 hour bar and one of the only places to stay open and ride out the entirety of Hurricane Katrina. Everything on the menu is hearty and delicious but I personally feast on the sausage and grits. As you're waiting for your food enjoy the dixieland jazz being played in the back room (Sundays) and the best Bloody Mary in town. Made with Louisiana hot sauce and pickled okra and pricing out at $3.50, get a couple and enjoy a walk through the Marigny or French Quarter.
