d.b.a. is one of the premier blues clubs in New Orleans. It's located in the heart of Frenchmen Street madness and has some of the best New Orleans style music featured every night of the week. The venue is split into two main parts: there's a bar that is in the middle of the space and extends to both halves of the space but on one side of the bar is a more traditional bar, with tables and chairs. Pass through the openings in the wall at either end of the bar and you enter into the music venue half of d.b.a. While the bar side is nice and it's crazy busy on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, it's the music venue half that is what makes d.b.a. so special. The best of New Orleans play this stage and the crowd knows it. On some Saturday nights Little Freddie King rocks the joint with his electric blues and on Wednesday night Walter Wolfman Washington livens up everyone present. The drinks at d.b.a aren't particularly cheap but since you are on Frenchmen it's only to be expected you're going to pay more for a drink. Overall, I can't say enough good things about d.b.a. It's what a New Orleans bar should be, it's crowded and lively, there's live music that blares out the doors, and everyone there just wants to have a good time.
