I stopped here during a Tuesday afternoon and it was an enjoyable experience. The next day I decided to go back for a beer with my date and the bartender who works Wednesday Wilson or William treated us terrible. Made a remark to my date after she tipped him thats only 50 cents a beer. We only had a couple beers each. It seemed he was more interested in counting his tips than taking care of the customers. Then he made a scene grabbing 2 cups and yelling across a crowded bar YOU DON"T DISRESPECT A BARTENDER asking us to leave. So much for New Orleans hospitality. I own a restaurant here in Pa. and if any of my employees treated a customer like that I would fire him on the spot.

The Chart Room is located in a nice and busy part of the Quarter. I came expecting something somewhat nice and classy but boy was I wrong. Not that it's a bad place, it's just a regular pub with TVs and dart leagues. When I went it was in the evening during the week and the place was pretty packed. Lots of people who'd been at work all day were hanging out and enjoying the scene, which is a pretty lively one. I didn't drink anything but Abita Amber and they were reasonably priced for the Quarter. The thing I like most about The Chart Room is that the front opens up entirely onto the sidewalk. There's an unobstructed view of the street and street life, which in New Orleans is the heart of this great city.
