I love Coop's Place. Really. It's one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It's got a dive feel to it, it's dark, it's loud, and their food is out of this world delicious. Even though it's located in the Quarter, if there were such thing as a punk restaurant, this would be it. The waiters and waitresses have a no bull**** attitude but they are attentive and helpful. The bar is filled with locals just enjoying a drink and the restaurant, backended by the bar, is a mix of tourists and locals alike. They have a regular beer menu but it's their food menu that will leave you wanting more. I get the Rabbit Jambalaya, which is one of the most savory and delicious meals I've ever had. Their Cajun fried chicken is also good, as is their shrimp creole They have a vegetarian dish too, Pasta Rosa, which I had a taste of and couldn't have been happier. If you're in town and want to get a taste of great Cajun food, go to Coop's. Even if you live here, you should go to Coop's at least once a month to remind your taste buds about the menu.
