How has NO ONE posted their love for Port of Call?! This is THE best burger I have ever had, hands down. I have yet to find a suitable comparison even in Chicago. When I come home, it's the very first place I have to eat. I actually had a cab drop me off directly from the airport last time I was in town! Favorites: The cheeseburger. The piled-high, thickly-shredded, cool cheddar cheese on this burger is a thing of beauty in itself. The meat is perfectly cooked to my requested medium rare EVERY time. Fresh, cool tomatoes and crisp, cold lettuce remind you this is not just any old burger in any old burger joint. This is done with pride...and done RIGHT! And don't forget the loaded baked potato. This baby offers enough toppings to the last bite. No requests for extras necessary! I have made more testimonials about Port of Call to friends traveling to New Orleans than I have about anything else in the city! No one has returned disappointed (or maybe they were really enthusiastic liars). You may think 'What could be so great about it? It's just a burger.' And, respectfully, I say, you would be wrong. It's just plain great. Amidst the amazing cuisine New Orleans has to offer that is unique to the city, this is still the thing I have been unable to duplicate or substitute anywhere else! It is and always will be a MUST stop on my list. Outstanding meal...super chill atmosphere...fast, friendly service...every time. Long wait? Suck it. It's worth it.
