Whenever I'm wandering around Bayou St. John during the day I pop into Fair Grinds. They are a typical coffehouse, so far as their menu goes, but they are housed in an old New Orleans home that's been masterfully converted into a social space with mutli-dimensions. The seating options are diverse and you can either be cloistered or social. Also, their side patio and front bench make sitting outside very pleasant. My favorite menu item, other than their coffee, is definitely the fresh squeezed orange juice. It's just what OJ should taste like. I definitely suggest Fair Grinds if you're looking to study or if you're just hanging out with some friends and you need a respite.
