You may never have noticed it on the corner of Jackson Square. The area is usually bustling with people anyway, and the addition of a few more milling about outside wouldn't raise any flags. Well, time to start paying attention and head over to Stanley, a classic American restaurant featuring breakfast and brunch favorites alongside innovative takes on New Orleans classics. First thing you'll notice about Stanley is the atmosphere, which is exactly how a restaurant should be. It's frenetic, you an see the chefs cooking up food behind the lunch counter and everything is tiled in white. By no means, though, is Stanley gaudy or genteel; it's classically American and you blend right in no matter if you're dressed casually or well-to-do. Once seated, the menu is splayed in front of you and you have some serious options. I went with the Banana's Fosters French Toast while other folks I was with went with the variations of the po'boy (crab was one of their picks). The French toast was good but for the price it could have been better. I expected a lot more sauce on it and a larger portion but that does not preclude it from being a delicious meal. I would suggest this if you're not starving but looking for a sweet treat. The po'boys were also good but again, for the price they were a little small. I actually directed others in my group who were visiting to make sure to go to Tracey's or Parkway for a "real" po'boy. Again, their taste was great but for the money, the portion was way too small. All in all, I would recommend Stanley for a nice brunch out but I wouldn't strongly recommended it. It should be listed amongst other options of places to go for brunch as it is by no means the stand alone place to go for brunch in the New Orleans.
