I had heard about this good spot for breakfast before but just yesterday was the first time I managed to get to the Ruby Slipper; I left impressed. It's located in Mid-City on a corner in, seemingly, an old house. When you enter it feels very warm and welcoming and when I was there at 9am it was busy and alive, just how a restaurant should be. On top of the great atmosphere, they offer a menu of standard breakfast items and ones that stray a little toward "fancy" (but just a very little). I got the French Toast which was really fantastic and some of the best I've had in the city. My partner got the eggs and toast, which, while standard, was just done very well. I highly recommend the Ruby Slipper. Most meals hover around $10 but in my opinion it's so very worth it for good food and great atmosphere.
