New York Fashion: Alexander Wang throws a stylish punch

Mama said knock you out -- but she probably didn't think anyone would be wearing furry boxing gloves to do it!
The edgy designer switched venues -- bye bye, Pier 94! -- but stayed true to his aesthetic of tomboy chic separates and drool-worthy accessories.
Oversized sweaters, substantial fur coats and those aforementioned boxing-inspired mittens dominated the runway, as models walked to a mashup of Eye of the Tiger and a hipster-fied version Mary J. Blige's Real Love.
The palette was subdued -- creams, grays, blacks -- but there was an amazing pop of color in the form of models' pin-straight copper-colored ponytails, which peeked out through slits in their ribbed knit hoods.
Modern shapes, sleek handbags and one-of-a-kind footwear added to the fresh vibe of the show. As did the front row, which was populated with downtown figures, including rapper A$AP Rocky, photographer Terry Richardson and actress-singer Zoe Kravitz.
