For those who follow the gossip blogs, the latest, at this point totally unsubstantiated rumor, out there?

That Anne Hathaway is with child.

The actress, 29, who plays Catwoman in Friday's The Dark Knight Rises, is engaged to actor Adam Shulman. And in a recent interview with USA TODAY's Donna Freydkin, she was open about her desire to start a family, at some point. "I hope so. God willing. I'd love to," she said.

She was less certain about raising them in New York City, where she's based.

"The walk over here was the first time I've had a paparazzi-free walk in weeks. That's why I have an umbrella with me. I can't imagine raising my kids where that has to become a part of their life. That might mean leaving the city. The photographers here are very aggressive," said Hathaway. "I'd like very much to be able to raise my kids in the city but we'll see. My hypothetical, theoretical, much-wished for children."

Another thing on Hathaway's mind? Her fairly recent foray into veganism. She looks great, with enviously dewy skin. She feels great. And she's still getting the hang of it. "There have been a lot of humbling moments of learning. I don't go the soy meat route. I have a really plant-based diet. So I wind up cooking at home a lot. Kale is amazing. Spelt pasta is amazing. I can't do the white flour stuff. It makes me really ill," she said.
