Rising Broadway star Jeremy Jordan just got a little busier. The actor, who earned a Tony nomination for his role in the Disney musical Newsies, is poised to join the cast of Smash, the NBC series about the making of a Broadway show.

Though casting has not been officially announced, various reports confirm that Jordan will join the show in its next (second) season, playing a talented, sexy young performer from Brooklyn with a few issues. (The term "self-destructive" has been used to describe the character.)

Jordan will apparently continue in Newsies, where he plays another working-class New Yawk kid, a newsboy who leads his colleagues on a strike. The actor lost the Tony for lead actor in a musical to Steve Kazee, of Once -- formerly the boyfriend of Smash star Megan Hilty.
