Fans go bonkers for Bieber

Bieber fever took hold of the 'Today' show plaza, where Justin Bieber sang for nearly 8,000 fans Friday morning.

It was a veritable Justin Bieber bonanza at the Today show plaza this morning, as the Biebs serenaded nearly 8,000 fans (packed in since 7 a.m.) with Boyfriend and Baby. Bieber told Matt Lauer and Ann Curry he was "really excited" to kick off his Believe tour Sept. 29. The album itself is due out June 19.
And in case you didn't know that, you could have checked Lauer's brand spanking new Twitter, which Bieber hijacked -- er, inaugurated:
"Hello. Everyone go buy Justin bieber's album #believe coming out June 19th"
Adolescent antics aside, Bieber recently talked to USA TODAY about his new, more grown-up album: "I'm maturing and so is my music."
