CBS renews 'Men,' cancels CSI: Miami
Posted May 12, 2012
CBS has canceled CSI: Miami and freshmen dramas Unforgettable and A Gifted Man, but closed a deal with Ashton Kutcher and renewed Two and a Half Men for a 10th season, as expected.
Miami, starring David Caruso, was the casualty of a plan to kill off one of three CSI series, and the newer New York version (which also got more votes in USA TODAY's Save Our Shows poll) survived. Also gone are two midseason series, cop drama NYC 22 and Rob Schneider sitcom Rob.
As for Men, ratings have declined since star Charlie Sheen was fired last year, but it remains an important part of the network's Monday comedy lineup. Kutcher's co-stars John Cryer and Angus T. Jones will also return to Men.
Sheen's new FX series, a remake of Anger Management, is due next month. CBS's fall lineup will be unveiled Wednesday.
