Katy Perry returns to 'Idol' next week

Katy Perry will perform her latest hit, Part of Me, on next week's American Idol results show (Fox, Thursday, April 26, 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT).

Perry, who has a 3-D feature film called Katy Perry: Part Me coming to theaters in July, has played Idol twice before. She performed E.T. with Kanye West in 2011 and Waking Up in Vegas in 2009.

Part of Me debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 in February, the first single in a year to enter the chart at the top spot.

Perry's latest album, released in March, is Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, a special-edition package of her double-platinum Teenage Dream album that includes previously unreleased songs and a seven-minute "megamix" of several of her No. 1 hits.
